Key Points

Belfast Canoe Club are the only club in Northern Ireland currently offering tuition in the Olympic discipline of kayak racing.
We are open to all, but our equipment is not generally suitable for children under 10.

Lough Henney is a uniquely suitable venue for learning to paddle racing kayaks

About The Event

This is an opportunity to try paddling a fast racing kayak on placid water.

An experienced racing coach will explain the differences between the kayaks and paddles used for racing and ‘normal’ kayaks, explain the principles of paddling fast, and provide an hour’s coaching on the water. Those interested in getting involved in racing will have the opportunity to join the club.

Club activities will continue Wednesdays and Sundays until October, and Sundays all year round.
